John Oliver found at least one place in America where people are typically dealt with even worse than pigs: prisons.
In Sundays episode of “Last Week Tonight,” Oliver stated inmates in jails in some of the most popular parts of the nation do not have access to cooling. For instance, in Texas, 75 percent of jails do not have A/C, triggering the heat index inside to hit 150 degrees in the summer season..
” This scenario is so bad the U.N. Committee Against Torture has revealed particular concern about deaths from severe heat direct exposure in prison centers in Texas,” Oliver kept in mind. “And while you probably assumed Texas prisons were bad, perhaps not International Human Rights Watch List bad.”.
Oliver indicated one circumstances where the pigs at a jail farm were given cooling to make those facilities constant with typical swine operations.
