Joey Chestnut did it once again.
Chestnut went on to win his 14th Nathans Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest on Sunday after he broke his own record and devoured 76 hotdogs and buns in 10 minutes of action. During last years contest without fans due to the coronavirus pandemic, Chestnut consumed 75 hot pet dogs.

While Chestnut was almost to break his record, the ESPN broadcast glitched and remained frozen for a couple of seconds, which caused a significant uproar from social media users who were tuning in to see the yearly event.
Michelle Lesco, of Tucson, Arizona, ate 30 3/4 canines in 10 minutes to declare the womens title. She called her victory “an amazing feeling.”
The yearly Fourth of July frankfurter fest typically takes place outside Nathans flagship shop in Brooklyns Coney Island area. This years planning took place amidst shifting coronavirus limitations, and the event was held in a nearby minor league baseball arena, Maimonides Park, with 5,000 spectators.
” It just felt great,” Chestnut, of Westfield, Indiana, informed ESPN after the victory on Sunday. “Even if I was uncomfortable, having everyone cheer me and press me, it made me feel excellent.”

Chestnut said he d missed the fans in 2015.

“Ive been looking forward to this all year,” he informed ESPN in an interview before this years competitors.
Last year, it was held inside your home and without an in-person audience because of the pandemic.
