Remember when Snapchat produced the Stories format and after that every business under the sun copied it? Well, as it turns out, some were more effective than others at that. Facebooks Instagram, for instance, surpassed Snapchat a very long time ago and its not looking back.
The company likes exploring “more ways to address what holds individuals back from participating on Twitter”. Surprisingly, some features from Fleets are making it to other parts of the experience – such as the full-screen electronic camera, text formatting choices, and GIF sticker labels, which are headed to the Tweet composer, for better or worse.
Individuals werent using Fleets, and so on August 3 Fleets will forever die. Twitter states it will use its knowings from Fleets to “focus on creating other methods for people to sign up with the conversation and discuss whats occurring in their world”, whatever that implies.
