Tesla hasnt released a new vehicle color for a long time, but a brand-new “deep crimson” color could be coming as it was found on a brand-new Design S body at its Fremont Factory.
Back in the early days of the Model S, Tesla used to provide a range of colors, however the car manufacturer decided to enhance alternatives, and it now offers only a handful of color alternatives that have remained the same for the last few years.
CEO Elon Musk has been talking about Tesla finally releasing new colors, however it has been connected to a new ” most-advanced paint shop” at Gigafactory Berlin.
The CEO discussed new multi-layered paints:
” Giga Berlin will have worlds most innovative paint store, with more layers of spectacular colors that subtly alter with curvature.”
Musk said that Tesla is working on a new “deep crimson red” that is becoming his favorite function.
The color was identified on Musks personal Model S last summer season:
Now, a new drone flyover video of Fremont Factory shows a new Model S body partly under a cover, and it seems the very same new deep crimson color:
The image above is from this drone flyover, which focuses on Tesla having redone its test track in the back of Fremont Factory:
The color is similar to Teslas signature red that was special to early Model S and Model X vehicles produced by the automaker.
Its unclear if Tesla is going to be producing the brand-new color out of Fremont Factory given that Musk connected the launch of new colors to the new paint shop at Gigafactory Berlin.
As we previously reported, Tesla developed a brand-new paint buy Model 3 in Fremont, and since last summer season, it prepared on recommissioning its previous paint store as it increases Model Y production.
Theres still hope for Tesla to introduce new colors out of its initial paint store.
Otherwise, the North American market is going to need to wait on Gigafactory Texas to come online.
