Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani-Bello has inaugurated a ladies health centre in Kontagora to add to the development of the health sector.The modern-day and well-equiped edifice is initiated by the spouse of the governor, Dr Amina Sani-Bello, through her Raise Foundation, with the assistance from Mainstream Foundations Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.
A declaration by Mrs Mary Noel-Berje, spokesperson to the guv, stated that the centre would supply healthcare services to females impacted by Vesico Vegina Fistula (VVF). Also, ladies who were previously diagnosed with VVF will be taught few abilities before reintegrating them into their neighborhoods.
At the event, the guv stated that the facility of the centre would complement the state federal governments effort at offering qualitative health care to locals, requiring more of such support from other personal bodies.
He advised pregnant females to constantly choose antenatal and ensure they go to clinic or health center for giving birth in order to reduce the burden of VVF in the State.
“We pray that soon we will use this centre as a basic health center because we are hoping that with correct sensitisation, specifically of women in backwoods, they will go to either the main health care or hospital to offer birth,” he stated.
According to him, the job and other comparable projects have the support of the state government.Amina, who explained that the job started in 2019 and was finished in November 2020, said it was borne out of her dedication to indigent females affected by VVF.
She stated that the centre has so far treated 34 patients and a 20-bed patients hostel has been provided to assist the clients recover.
The hostel is likewise offering patients empowerment abilities and prepare them psychologically, mentally as well as financially to continue with their lives.
Executive Secretary, Mainstream Foundation, Alhaji Siraj Abdullahi, stated a few of their CSR is in the locations of education, health, environment amongst others, adding that their interventions remain in all their host neighborhoods.
Former Nigeria Head of State, retire Gen. Abubakar Abdulsalami and retired Col. Sani Bello, who is the Chairman, Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited, were the unique guests at the event.

Other dignitaries were previous Niger State Chief Judge, Justice Fati Lami-Abubakar, Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmed Garba, Attahiru II, and the Emir of Kontagora likewise represented by Alhaji Shehu Galadima, the Galadiman Kontagora.
