Getty ImagesAbout 2.2 million more stimulus checks have gone out over the last six weeks, the federal government stated Wednesday.The most current batch brings the total number of payments paid out to more than 171 million, with an aggregate worth of $400 billion, according to the statement from the IRS, Treasury Department and Bureau of the Fiscal Service. This batch also consists of supplemental payments for people who earlier this year got payments based on their 2019 tax returns yet were qualified for a new or larger quantity based on their 2020 tax returns, which would have been processed more recently.The IRS stated it will continue to disburse these stimulus checks on a weekly basis.
