Jodie Foster will get an honorary Palme dOr this year, participating in as a special guest of the opening ceremony on July 6 to get her award. There are some other familiar names tipped to be part of the Riviera lineup, so stay tuned.
And, for those intending to take a trip to the celebration, Cannes released guidelines on Wednesday stating that admission will go through everyday health pass checks. This is specified as a certificate demonstrating full vaccination of a vaccine acknowledged by the European Medicines Agency (eg evidence that 14 days have actually passed since the second shot for those vaccinated with double-dose vaccines, or proof that four weeks have actually gone by considering that a single-dose vaccine); OR a negative PCR or antigen test result issued no more than 48 hours prior– to be restored every 48 hours for the period of time at the festival; OR proof of resistance by means of a positive antibody test or RT-PCR test dated no less than 15 days prior, and under 6 months ago. The festivals partner lab center near the Palais will offer tests free of charge.
