This is the first time in a long while where Apple has the ability to match Android in the second quarter, with the Google OS typically accounting for around 60% of brand-new activations in the duration.
Apple represented half of United States phone activations in the months April through June, per a report from the Customer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP).
Mike Levin, co-founder of CIRP, states this is because of loyalty and changing – iPhone users have a greater 93% loyalty, compared to 88% for Android users. And iPhone users are more likely to buy another iPhone than to switch over to Android.
