The honchos at Disney unveiled this week an update to their Jungle Cruise flights at both Disneyland and Disney World … which were getting re-tweaked over the past year and change after a lot of individuals required they lose the so-called “locals” along the OG path.

The call to revamp Jungle Cruise came on the heels of Disney revealing they were likewise providing their Splash Mountain trips a facelift … with the OG animatronics likewise being called racist and perpetuating deep South tropes. They looked after that, and now … this too.

It appears none of those depictions are still around in the new trip– however there are still Black individuals featured. Just now, theyre viewed as part of the exploration team … instead of being seen as the frightening, cannibal-esque bad men threatening the cruise guests.

Disney has a new Jungle Cruise take a look at its amusement park– this after capturing flak for what some said were racist representations– and they did away with any and all upseting robotics.

Many of those indigenous people were depicted as Black– however they were also constructed out to look like what some have actually characterized as “savages” … something thats been done time and again going back to the 20th century. Dr. Seuss even used to portray indigenous individuals in the very same fashion … constantly drawing them with incredibly dark skin and exaggerated functions.

The Mouse House published a BTS video showing the process of what entered into revamping the flight– and the engineers repeated what Disney stated in a declaration … particularly, that they wanted to remain devoted to what everyone remembers and likes about Jungle Cruise voyages of the past, while also being inclusive/respectful/accurate over depicting cultures.

Up next– Peter Pan and their Native American robotics. Simply joking … possibly.

What that, apparently, amounted to in the final item– based upon video they published of the upgraded Jungle Cruise ride– is no trace of the indigenous people that used to be seen along the method.
