From the statement of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), in anticipation of the judgment in Dobbs v. Jackson Womens Health Organization:
” As our country awaits the U.S. Supreme Courts choice in Dobbs v. Jackson Womens Health Organization, we collaborate in prayer and expectant hope that states will again be able to secure females and kids from the oppression of abortion. As we affirm the worth of every human life, we invite the possibility of conserving numerous unborn kids along with sparing ladies and households the discomfort of abortion … We exhort our nation to focus on the well-being of women, children, and households with both material resources and individual accompaniment so that no lady ever feels forced to choose in between her future and the life of her kid … To declare with a united and clear voice that our society can and should care and secure for both ladies and their kids. To enhance our advocacy for laws that ensure the right to life for unborn kids and that no mother or household does not have the standard resources needed to look after their kids, despite race, age, immigration status, or any other factor. To continue to promote and support for public laws and programs directed toward developing the common great and fostering essential human development, with a special concern for the requirements of immigrants and low-income households … We are deeply mindful that, after almost half a century of legalized abortion, more than 65 million children have actually passed away from abortion and an untold number of families, females, and males suffer in the after-effects.”
As a community of faithful Catholics at Holy Trinity and St Patricks, our parish needs to have a renewed commitment in defense of the sanctity of all human life, from conception to natural death. We should announce Gods grace and empathy so that males and ladies affected by abortion will get forgiveness, healing, and spiritual renewal. We should remain notified on present regard life legislation, household life, immigration and social justice subjects.
Above all, we must be a parish household of consistent Prayer and sacrifice. Let us hope for the Supreme Court Justices, that the Holy Spirit will touch their hearts and provide them with the presents required to make choices that safeguard innocent ladies and kids. It calls us to uniformity and fraternal love for the excellent human family and for each of its members.”
