Mingo, 30, was the No. 6 choice in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was a member of the Browns, Patriots, Colts, Seahawks, Texans and Bears before signing up with the Falcons.

” Our organization became aware of the accusations including Barkevious Mingo today and are currently collecting info on this occurrence,” the Falcons stated Saturday in a declaration released to PFT. “The Falcons take the accusations extremely seriously and will continue to keep an eye on the situation.”

Falcons pass-rusher Barkevious Mingo was jailed earlier today and charged with indecency with kid, sexual contact, according to various reports. He published a $25,000 bond in Tarrant County, Texas, and was launched, Pro Football Talk reported, pointing out court records.

” The event comes from an examination that the department is conducting,” the Arlington Police Department informed TMZ. “Mingo turned himself in on his own accord in consultation with his lawyer. The bond has been posted and he has been launched from custody.”

The charge is considered a second-degree felony in Texas– punishable by as much as a 20-year prison sentence and lifetime windows registry as a sex culprit, if convicted. The charge uses to victims more youthful than 17 years old, according to the websites of several Lone Star State-based law practice

Mingo apparently was apprehended late Thursday night and launched Friday. Details surrounding the nature of the supposed incident are uncertain.
