The Hubble Space Telescope.Image: NASAThe Hubble recovery group believes its lastly tracked down an issue thats kept the space telescope out of commission for over a month. The problem began on June 13, when an onboard computer system unexpectedly ground to a halt. The issue is with the payload computer, which monitors and manages Hubbles science instruments. The Hubble recovery group has tried all sorts of tests over the past couple of weeks (a running list of procedures taken can be seen here), along with efforts to restart and reconfigure the payload computer, however absolutely nothing has worked.
