On Tuesdays episode of The Late Show, Rita Moreno spoke up against criticism of Lin-Manuel Miranda that she stated “truly upsets” her.

Moreno worked with Miranda on her brand-new documentary Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go for It, which charts her journey from simple beginnings in Puerto Rico to success on Broadway and in Hollywood. The criticism shes referring to pertains to the lack of Afro-Latinx representation in Warner Bros. In the Heights, the movie adjustment of his acclaimed Broadway musical, on which he served as composer, lyricist, producer, star and co-writer.
” In attempting to paint a mosaic of this community, we fell short,” Miranda continued. “Im genuinely sorry.”
