According to Sony Netherlands, the Xperia 1 III is getting one significant Android upgrade and 2 years of monthly security updates. Thats it.
We really hope this is a mistake – that somebody in Sonys team in the Netherlands was misleaded or something, because otherwise this is quite ridiculous. Weve seen a lot of Android device manufacturers left and best increase their software application support windows a minimum of for the flagships – Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, and so on. Even Google is reported to up the number of years its supporting Pixels beginning with the Pixel 6 generation coming this fall.

And during all this, Sony seems to be in an entirely different universe. Lets hope the Japanese business will soon release a declaration saying this was all a misconception or something like that. Due to the fact that if it doesnt, you might wish to hesitate about paying out EUR1,299 for a phone that will get the same number of significant Android updates as a EUR200 OnePlus Nord N-series handset.
If you were questioning what kind of software application support to expect from Sonys most current flagship mobile phone, the Xperia 1 III, we have the answer for you and you may not like it.
