If youre new to “Suga” Sean OMalley, brace yourself. He is one of the increasing stars in the UFC and among the most amusing fighters on the lineup. Theres a reason hes opening this card. His initial opponent, Louis Smolka, was gotten rid of from this battle thanks to a staph infection. The replacement fighter, Kris Moutinho, represents something of an inequality. Hes a last minute replacement and not a strong one either. It would be a wild upset if OMalley lost this battle, but complete stranger things have taken place in the UFC. Round 1 Moutinho definitely marching forward attempting to capture OMalley with legs kicks. OMalley seems to be landing at will, probing front kicks, accuracy jabs, straights. Just amazing land portion. At one point OMalley had him harm and was … pretending to play basketball? Incredible.But Moutinhos capability to take in damage and walk forward does appear to be triggering OMalley some problems. That said, OMalley absolutely triggered him in the last second of the round One more minute and he d have been out. To be truthful, I would have liked to see that continue. Regardless, a wild battle.
