The OnePlus Nord CE 5G had a hard time to make a case for itself in last weeks survey– it received some positive votes and, most importantly, it edged the initial Nord by a good margin. The bulk voted against it.
The entire point of the “Core Edition” gadget was to cut the fat off the spec sheet and bring a cost cut that will make this mid-ranger one of the very best value-for-money phones out there. Did OnePlus prosper?
Not rather, by the appearances of it. The shadow of two Poco phones – the X3 Pro and F3 – loomed large over the Nord CE. Other options like Samsungs Galaxy A52 5G (and offerings from the associated F-series) were brought up in the remarks too (though it should be noted that the 5G is more expensive than the Nord, while the A52 4G is less capable).

And youll get 2 years of OS updates, plus an extra one of security spots. The Samsung phones will get an extra year, while the Xiaomis must match the OnePlus.
You can read our review for a detailed assessment of the phone if youre still undecided. There are things that can be fine-tuned, e.g. the camera image processing might be much better. No software application update is going to include the missing HDR10+ support on the display or a Gorilla Glass to protect it.
Anyway, the Nord CE also packs some niceties like a 3.5 mm headphone jack and an always-on display and excellent battery life with quick charging (though the benefit over the competition isnt ground-breaking).
It appears that the OnePlus Nord CE 5G has actually failed its objective of being a “mid-range killer”. The original Nord showed rather successful and if theres any great news from these survey results it is that more individuals voted in favor of the CE than the initial Nord. The initial Nord itself dealt with many skeptics in the early days.
