Getty ImagesLos Angeles Dodgers superstar pitcher Trevor Bauer on Friday was put on a weeklong administrative leave by Major League Baseball amidst a criminal examination of claims that Bauer sexually attacked a female in ruthless incidents.Bauers forced leave was announced on the very same day President Joe Biden hosted the Dodgers at the White House to mark their World Series win last fall.Bauer, who won the 2020 National League Cy Young Award while playing for the Cincinnati Reds, in February agreed to a three-year contract with the Dodgers that could pay him an overall of $102 million, making him one of the highest-paid baseball players.The 30-year-old, who next had been arranged to pitch Sunday in Washington against the Nationals, has not been criminally charged in the events, which presumably happened in April and May.”While no decision in the case has been made, we have made the choice to place Mr. Bauer on seven-day administrative leave efficient instantly,” MLB said in the declaration.”Mr. Bauer will not appeal MLBs choice to position him on administrative leave at this time in an effort to reduce any distraction to the Dodgers company and to his colleagues,” the declaration said.”The short article blasted the Dodgers and MLB for “cowardice” in not having put Bauer on leave despite the “sickening” allegations versus him.Bauers accuser stated in her application for the limiting order that he choked her until she lost consciousness during 2 sexual encounters, and throughout one of the encounters repeatedly punched her in the face and genitals, hurting her so terribly that she was hospitalized.She also declares he engaged in sexual conduct that she had not agreed to during one of the encounters.Bauers co-agent, Jon Fetterolf, has formerly said that Bauer “had a quick and completely consensual sexual relationship” with the lady that she started.
