A cycling fan who caused a huge pileup on the opening day of the Trip de France on Saturday handed herself in to authorities in Brittany today, but was to likely avoid prosecution as the Tour organizers chose not to press charges.

Police did not name the lady, who was in custody on Wednesday. Local media said she was a 30-year-old Frenchwoman. Initially it was believed she was German because her homemade banner was a mix of German and french: “Allez opi omi” or “Go grandfather, grandma.” The female ran away the scene but police attracted the general public for details about her identity after the Tour organizers, ASO, stated they would bring a suit against her for involuntarily triggering injury through negligent habits– a charge that brings a $1,770 fine.
